There are many healthy whole grain breads at the market
to use for sandwiches......avoid the use of white bread......
White bread is depleted of most all....its nutritional value.
Use a variety in choices of breads....to get a wider variety
of minerals. Constantly eating wheat products leads many
people to becoming wheat allergic.....as constantly eating
anything can be negative from just plain lack of variety...!
keeping in mind most all sandwiches are good...from tuna
to roast beef when eaten in context of a balanced diet.......

To make sandwiches more balanced and nutritious add.....
foods like lettuce, tomato, sprouts, green peppers or what
have you to help put them in balance...with the sandwiches
listed below just some more unusual examples of possible
varieties you may not have ever of thought of....as variety
"is" the spice of life......because with variety comes all the
nutrients that your body needs to keep itself in balance.....

SANDWICH COMBINATIONS

1. Cream cheese and walnuts on some type of brown bread...

2. Mashed banana, sliced black olives and mayonnaise...

3. Avocado and romaine on whole wheat or pumpernickel bread...

4. Lettuce, grated carrot, and chopped raisins on date nut bread...

5. Sliced cucumbers marinated in french dressing on dark bread...

6. Lettuce, tomato and cheese with dressing or mayo...

7. Soyaburger sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, dressing or mayo...

8. Spaghetti on your choice of a variety of breads...

SALAD DRESSINGS

GREEN HERB DRESSING

...3/4cup mayonnaise...11/2 tsp. basil...1 tsp. dill weed...
...2 Tbs. chopped chives...2 tsp. crushed tarragon...
1/4 tsp. paprika...2 Tbs. chopped parsley 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt...
...1 tsp. thyme 2/3cup plain yogurt...

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
Cover and refrigerate over night.

HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING

...1/2 cup mayonnaise...1/2 cup buttermilk...
...1/2 tsp. broth or seasoning mix...1/2 clove minced garlic...
...2 Tbs. chopped parsley and chives...

Combine all ingredients and mix well in a blender.

THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING

...1 clove minced garlic clove minced garlic...
...1 chopped hard boiled egg...1-2 sweet pickles chopped...

Combine all ingredients, chill, and serve.

POPPY SEED DRESSING

...1/3 cup honey...2 1/2 Tbs. poppy seeds...1/4 cup Laurie's salt...
...1/3 cup cider vinegar...1 1/4 cup corn oil, or olive oil...
...1/2 cup med. grated onion...3Tbs prepared mustard...


Combine all ingredients in a blender. Cover, chill, and serve.

SIMPLE DRESSINGS

1. Lemon juice.
2. Lemon juice and oil.
3. Juice of one lemon with one tablespoon of honey.
4. Juice of one lemon with one tablespoon oil.
5. Chopped parsley and onion
6. Vinegar and oil.
7. Plain yogurt and mayonnaise with seasoning.

BEVERAGES

General Directions for Tea Making:

Most teas should not be boiled but merely steeped to gain their flavor.....
they are made bitter by boiling and lose their beneficial quality...try and
use freshly boiled water.....serve plain with fresh lemon or with a little...
...cream or honey...
