The Balanced Diet

The balanced diet in favor of our biological dispositions was specifically designed for lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, rice, beans and a moderate percentage of animal products (including dairy), with a preference towards fish and poultry... with meat being fine and even needed by many. Both meat and dairy are excellent supplements to our diets.

The reason animal products should not represent a large percent of our total diet is because our bodies are not biologically suited to eat lots of animal protein... at the same time animal products ARE still part of a good BALANCED DIET. Meat is OK, as is poultry and fish, and these are a good part of MY diet!

One reason we need to eat lots of other things besides animal products is that our intestines are very long compared to exclusively meat-eating animals (one third the length of ours). Meat in carnivores passes through their intestines in three to four hours, not the 24 to 48 hours or more it does in most people. Meats pass too slowly through our digestive systems, leaving a residue of waste products... toxifying our blood system if we eat too much of them. A 2-6 oz. serving is just fine a couple of times a day as part of our overall diet.

Our digestive juices are only one tenth as strong as meat eating animals, so smaller amounts of meat products at a time make for better digestion... certainly not more then 2-6 ounces per serving for most people, with amounts over that not being digested quickly... a big reason why most everyone over 20 years of age are walking around with 5 to 50 pounds of half-digested protein caught up in their intestinal system in potentially cancerous colon pockets. This could also be why colon cancer is the number two cancer killer in America. "Did I hear some say, McDonalds."

Or as Albert Einstein once said,
"God does not play dice with the world!"

It isn't that you can't enjoy a variety of foods and desserts... but your enjoyment should be based on a simple rule: Eat in balance more often and you will protect yourself from disease, with moderation being your guideline and doctor. True, it takes time to develop better habits, but oh, the price one pays if he doesn't change. No, a triple bypass is not the answer, nor is diabetes, heart or kidney transplant. The answer is a change in eating habits.

Do you honestly think you catch cancer, heart disease, stroke, arthritis, constipation, high blood pressure or the infinite ways disease can manifest itself? Of course you don't. And aspirin is not the answer, nor vitamin C, unless combined with the simplicity of a good balanced diet high in fruits vegetables, grains, rice and beans... which no amount of Slim-Fast or exercise can replace either.

The choice is all yours. And no medical miracles or drugs are going to spare you on the one hand, while your other hand clutches a "Big Gulp" and fries most of the time.
